The Liberal Democrat MP Steve Darling has sent pharmacies in his constituency of Torbay a survey to find out the biggest challenges facing them so he can “advocate” for their needs and “work towards solutions”.
Darling (pictured) launched his questionnaire on day the latest community pharmacy funding announcement was made. The survey asks pharmacy teams how satisfied they are with current levels of support and funding.
It asks if “recent changes in NHS policies or funding” have impacted their ability to provide essential services and how strong their collaboration with GP practices is.
It also asks what additional services or resources they need to “better support the health needs of the Torbay community” and how local MPs and councils can “better advocate for and support the role of pharmacists in the healthcare system”.
“Pharmacies are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing crucial services to residents across Torbay. I want to hear directly from those on the frontlines about the challenges they face and how we can better support them.” Darling was quoted as saying in Torbay Weekly.
